This is a Christmas present for my cousin's new baby. It's fairly simple, inspired by larger stockings I've made a few times before, but with my own spin, particularly in terms of the details.
Small amount white yarn
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and each ch sp across (22 sc)
Row 2-5: sc in each sc across
Row 6: sl st in first 4 sc, sc in next 14 sc across, turn
Row 7-13: sc in each sc around
Fold in half, around edges (leaving an opening at the top), sc in end of each row, leftover sc and sl st of rows 5 and 6, other side of ch and in the fold at the end of each row
Ch 8 and sl st in same place.
Fasten off and weave in remaining ends
Join with white, sl st around sides, bottom and in each side of opening.
